Sweden won the second World Cup in their history yesterday (Sunday, November 30th) at the Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzhen.
Henrik Stenson paired up with Robert Karlsson of
Titleist as the European Ryder Cup stars came from three shots back to take the title with a winning final round of 63.
Sweden were left on 27-under par for the tournament, three ahead of runners-up Spain, represented by Pablo Larrazabal and Miguel Angel Jimenez on 24-under.
Meanwhile, defending champions Scotland finished 20 strokes behind the eventual winners, as Colin Montgomerie and Alistair Forsyth could not replicate the performance of Monty and Marc Warren a year previously.
Forsyth told the Daily Record that despite the disappointment, he still hopes to represent Scotland in years to come.
"Take it from me, golf's World Cup is going to get bigger and better over the next few years.
"And I want to be there in 12 months' time because it has already changed almost beyond recognition."
