World number two Phil Mickelson has put the idea of competing on the new-look European Tour on the back burner for the time being.
It had been suggested that Mickelson was ready to switch allegiance from the US PGA Tour to the continental circuit, but the
Callaway Golf star says he is not ready just yet.
Mickelson says when he makes the decision it will not be a half-hearted one.
The three-time major winner commented: "When I commit to the European Tour, I expect to play not just the minimum but to really be a part of it.
Hinting at a move in the future at some point, he added: "I want to experience different cultures, I want my family to experience different cultures."
Mickelson is in Shanghai, China, to defend his HSBC Champions crown - the star-studded tournament starts tomorrow (Thursday, November 6th) at the Sheshan Golf Club.
